Eligibility criteria
- The family should have a girl child below 10 years of age. There should be a Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA) in the name of the girl child. The girl child should be a resident Indian.

Selected District
- First phase: In the first phase of this scheme, 100 districts were selected. Of which 87 districts were selected from 23 states where CSR is below 918. 8 districts were selected from the 8 states where CSR is above 918 but falling and 5 districts were selected from the 5 states where CSR is 918 but rising.
- Second phase: 61 districts from 11 states were selected in the second phase. Seeing the successful implementation of this scheme in all the states, the scheme was expanded by the government to the entire country.
New Changes in Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana
Some new elements are being included in the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.
- The Central Government has given a new look to the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme 2024 by revising it. In the new form of this scheme, the government is going to include some new elements like providing skills to girls, increasing their enrolment in secondary education, making them aware about menstrual hygiene and ending child marriage. Information about the inclusion of these new elements has been given by Women and Child Development Secretary Indevar Pandey in the national conference related to skills in non-traditional livelihood for girls. A manual has also been issued in this program which will be used in the implementation of the scheme in the districts.
