Educational Qualification
- Qualification & Experience for the post of Sr. Medical Specialist:
(a) For General Surgery, General Medicine & Pulmonary Medicine -the minimum qualification is MBBS from a recognized Institute/ College approved by the Medical Council of India with a recognized Post Graduate Degree/DNB with a minimum 3 years post qualification experience.
(b) For other Specialists, in addition to the above, Post Graduate Diploma is also considered as one of the minimum eligible qualifications.
(c) The Period of Tutorship done from National Medical Council/Commission-recognized Medical College/institute
will be treated as post-qualification experience.
(d) The Period of the completed Fellowship course, recognized by the Medical Council of India will be accepted as Post qualification experience.
(e) The Experience of private practice/ self-clinic may also be considered as post-qualification experience. - Qualification for the Post of Medical Specialist:

- Upper Age Limit for General/ UR Candidates – Sr. Medical Specialist (E4 Grade): 42 Years
- Upper Age Limit for General UR Candidates – Sr. Medical Officer, (Sr. Medical Officer (Dental) /Medical Specialist in E3 Grade: 35 Years
- Age Relaxation is Applicable as per rules.
Salary detail
- The salary for the positions of Sr. Medical Specialist/Medical Specialist ranges from Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 2,00,000, while for the position of Sr. Medical Officer, it ranges from Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000 per month.
