Educational Qualification
- Should be an Indian citizen.
- A male candidate who has more wives than one living wife and a female candidate who is already married to a person who has another wife from Govt
- Not eligible for appointment without prior approval. 2) The candidate must be mentally and physically healthy and his appointment is free from any ailment likely to endanger the efficient performance of duties.
- Should be free from physical handicaps.
- Of the Medical Board as physically unfit
- The State Government reserves full discretion to reject the report as ineligible and the discretion of the Government shall not be limited in any way by these rules.
- Persons permanently debarred from examinations or appointments conducted by the Central or Karnataka or other State Public Service (Commission) shall not be eligible for appointment.
- A person convicted of any moral offense or a person temporarily debarred or disqualified from examinations or appointments conducted by the Central or Karnataka or any other State Public Service Commission, shall not be eligible for appointment until the Government on re-examination of all the circumstances deems him eligible for appointment.
Age Limit
- Minimum of 21 years
- For General Merit Candidates: 38 years
- For Category 2A/2B/3A/3B candidates: 41 years
- For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Category-1 candidates: 43 years

- The Selection process is based on the Written Examination, Personality Test.
