Educational Qualifications
General Minimum Qualification:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University of India (established/incorporated by/ under a Central or State Act) or an Institute recognized by the Government of Assam or by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Additional Qualifications for Specific Posts:
- Additional Public Prosecutor: Must have practiced as an Advocate including in the High Court for not less than 7 (seven) years, basically on the criminal side.
- Assistant Public Prosecutor: Must have practiced as an Advocate including in the High Court for not less than 3 (three) years, basically on the criminal side.

Selection process
- The candidates will be shortlisted (2–3 times of the vacancy) based on the marks secured in graduation (10 marks), higher secondary (20 marks), and HSLC (20 marks).
- The shortlisted candidates based on merit will be called through the online portal of the District Commissioner, Karimganj (karimganj.assam.gov.in), for the final written exam in February.
- Final selection will be made based on aggregate marks obtained in criteria (A) and (B) above.
